Beyoncé & Jay-z’s twins officially have names!
Beyoncé and Jay-Z welcomed their twins into the world a couple of weeks ago, however we’ve all been kept in the dark about the names of the new Carter-Knowles’ kiddies.
According to TMZ, the Lemonade singer reportedly gave birth to a boy and a girl, named Sir and Rumi. Adorable, right?!
The twins’ names were uncovered by TMZ who reportedly found legal documents proving that Bey and Jay filed trademarks for ‘Sir’ and ‘Rumi’ to use on random items including strollers, hair ribbons, tote bags, fragrances and cosmetics.
According to Teen Vogue, Bey and Jay also went through the same trademark process when their daughter Blue Ivy was born.
However, Jay previously spoke out about the decision to trademark the name of his children telling Vanity Fair: “You don’t want anybody trying to benefit off your baby’s name. It wasn’t for us to do anything.”
So, contrary to popular belief and if Jay’s words are anything to go by, you won’t be able to find an array of Sir and Rumi products in your local stores. Nevertheless, Sir and Rumi are already well and truly part of the Carter-Knowles empire. (MTV AU)
